Deactivate Students
You can deactivate a student if you no longer want to see them in the student list.
Deactivating a student is the process of moving older student records (or students that are no longer required) into a different location on the Testwise platform. You may want to deactivate multiple students at the end of each academic year, or deactivate individual students if someone leaves the school.
Whenever you deactivate a student they are no longer displayed within the student list, and you cannot change their details (unless they are reactivated).
If the student you chose to deactivate has completed tests or had reports created based upon their test result, these will remain in the platform. For example, if you want to deactivate a student who completed 12 tests, their test results will still remain in Testwise after you have deactivated them. However, you will not be able to add them to sittings or generate new reports for them; you will only be able to view or download previously created reports for deactivated students.
When viewing the Students list you can display all deactivated students, by selecting the Show Deactivated Students checkbox.
You can reactivate deactivated students if you want to reverse the deactivate process, which means any reactivated students will reappear in the Students list. See Reactivate Students for help restoring deactivated students.
How to Deactivate Individual Students
Students can be individually deactivated if they are no longer required on the Students list.
Click Students
on the Testwise home screen. All existing students are displayed within the Students list.
Find the student(s) you want to deactivate and select the box
on the left side of the student's name. You can select multiple students at once if required.
Note: The box will turn purple with a tick when selected.
Click Deactivate
to deactivate the selected student(s). This is displayed above the Students list.
A pop-up will appear, click Deactivate
to confirm the deactivation of the selected student(s).
Note: Deactivated student(s) will no longer be visible in the Students list.
Click the Show Deactivated Students checkbox
above the Students list to view deactivated students.
How to Bulk Deactivate Students
Bulk deactivation allows for a large group of students to be deactivated at once if they are no longer required on the Students list.
Click Students
on the Testwise home screen. All existing students are displayed within the Students list.
Click the Filter
to display the filter pane, find the group of students that are to be deactivated.
Once the selected students have been filtered into the Students list, click the 'Select All' checkbox
on the left hand side of the headings column.
Note: All checkboxes will turn purple with a tick when selected.
Click Deactivate
to deactivate the selected students. This is displayed above the Students list.
A pop-up will appear, click Deactivate
to confirm the deactivation of the selected student(s).
Note: Deactivated student(s) will no longer be visible in the Students list.
Click the Show Deactivated Students checkbox
above the Students list to view deactivated students.
Notes:
Deactivated student's details cannot be changed until they are reactivated.
Deactivated students cannot be added to sittings.
Students can be reactivated at any time.
To delete a student permanently you will need to submit a Customer Support ticket or phone them on 0330 123 5375.
