Minimum System Requirements
To use Testwise effectively, you should ensure that you run it on software and hardware that meets our minimum system requirements outlined below.
Devices and Browsers
The Testwise platform can be split into two parts:
- Epoch & Reporting – Epoch platform is where sittings, students, etc. can be managed, including all reporting.
- Test player – Platform where students complete assessments.
Testwise is supported on the latest available operating system on any given device.
Please note that Internet Explorer is not supported.

(* = See Tablet and Touch Screen Device Compatible Products)
Unless specified you should ensure you have the latest version of each web browser. This may require you to also update your Operating System.
If you are using a Chrome book to administer any of your assessments please disable any installed extensions as these may not be compatible with Test wise. Alternatively, if restoring to factory settings is not an option for you, please use a new browser window in ‘Incognito’ mode, and go full screen (f11)
Tablet and touch screen device compatible products
All tests on the Test Player are fully supported on tablet and touch screen devices with the broswers specified in the above section ‘Devices and Broswers’, with the exception of the following:
- PT series – Science
- PT series – Maths
Our comprehensive testing processes ensure compatibility with the majority of major touch screen devices, however due to the number and variety of devices constantly being released to market there may be some minor issues experienced on emerging devices. If you experience any issues please advise our technical support team accordingly firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: The admin pages of the platform have not been optimised for tablet use.
Supported screen resolutions are as follows, these resolutions apply if used on any of the supported devices as listed above. Screen res is quoted Width x Height.
- 1024 x 768 (XGA) (not 768 x 1024 as may be used by a tablet in portrait mode)
- 1920 x 1080 (FHD)
- 1366 x 768 (HD)
- 1280 x 800 (WXGA)
When taking tests in the Testplayer, if using a device with a height of 768 it’s recommended to enter the device into full screen mode. This can be done using F11 on Windows, or Fn+F11 on iOS.
