Minimum System Requirements

To use Testwise effectively, you should ensure that you run it on software and hardware that meets our minimum system requirements outlined below.

Devices and browsers

The Testwise platform can be split into two parts:

  • Epoch and Reporting – Epoch platform is where sittings, students, etc. can be managed, including all reporting. 
  • Testplayer – The platform where students complete assessments.

Testwise is supported on the latest available operating system on most major devices.

Please note that Internet Explorer is no longer supported.

Unless specified otherwise, you must ensure that you have the latest version of these web browsers. This may sometimes require you to update the operating system on your device.

You should also ensure that Javascript is enabled and that your browser window is maximised.

If you are using a Chromebook to administer any of the assessments, please disable any browser extensions, as these may not be compatible with Testwise. Alternatively, if restoring the browser to factory settings is not an option for you, please open Testwise in a new browser window in Incognito mode and enter full screen mode (F11).

Tablet and touchscreen device compatible products

All tests on the Testplayer are fully supported on tablet and touchscreen devices. You may take any tests on the browsers specified in the above section, 'Devices and browsers', except the following:

  • PT series – English
  • PT series – Maths
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyscalculia

Our comprehensive testing processes ensure compatibility with most major touchscreen devices. However, due to the number and variety of devices constantly being released into the market, you may experience some minor issues on newer devices.

Please note: The admin pages of the platform have not been optimised for tablet use.

Screen resolutions

Screen resolutions supported by Testwise are as below. These resolutions apply if used on any of the supported devices listed above. The screen resolutions below are Width x Height (in pixels) specifications:

  • 1024 x 768 (XGA) (Not 768 x 1024 which may be the resolution of a tablet in portrait mode)
  • 1920 x 1080 (FHD)
  • 1366 x 768 (HD)
  • 1280 x 800 (WXGA)

When taking tests in the Testplayer, if you are using a device with a screen height of 768 pixels, it is recommended that you enter full screen mode. This can be done using F11 on Windows, or Fn+F11 on iOS.

File types

You should be able to download .mp3 .swf .png .js .csv and .zip files on your device.

Whitelisting

Any firewall, content or proxy filtering done at the school must allow access to the following URLs:
